Are you trying to downgrade and unlock 04.11.08 baseband on the new iOS 5 firmware? Many users have been trying to do this and we have got a few questions from our readers regarding the same 04.11.08 baseband unlock and downgrade.

Some users accidentally jumped onto the iOS 5 update without knowing the consequences. And now they are stuck on the 04.11.08 baseband. Below are the main questions that come from users regarding 04.11.08 baseband. We have the answers for that.

Can you actually downgrade 04.11.08 Baseband?

The answer to this question is unfortunately ‘ No ‘. You cannot downgrade 04.11.08 baseband to lower ones.

Is there an unlock available for 04.11.08 baseband?

Currently, we don’t have an unlock for the 04.11.08 baseband. Even the Gevey SIM won’t work in this case for now.

Will we ever get an unlock for 04.11.08 baseband?

There are no problems without solutions. So, we can hope for the best. An Ultrasn0w update from the Dev Team in the near future can be given only very little expectation. But, a newer version of Gevey SIM might come mostly soon as their history tells. So, the 04.11.08 baseband users can wait for that to get their iPhones unlocked.

    There is no point to make an unlock for ios 5.0 or 5.1 before they are completely jailbreaked in an unthedered version..Thats just waist of time..So be patient let those guys work things out first..
    You can be pretty sure that there will come an unlock..

      You need to contact your network provider, they will unlock it for FREE so you can use any sim

        Hi there, how to you get the network provider to unlock it? I have a AT&T locked device and have called AT&T to no avail, they said I should call apple. Apple said I should speak to AT&T and eventually they said they wont do it? Help any help would be a God sent, Merci :)

    Hi, I’m from Venezuela n bought n Iphone 4 in The States thinking that I could unlock it here, my friend who lives there brought it a week ago n now I find out that the BB is 4.11.08 n therefore unlockable..!!! I wanna kill myself, I spent the money I had in a very expensive paperweight!!     Hi! On the US, buy the H2O wireless sim card! It needs to me cut for the iphone 4! I paid 60 Dollars for the unlimited plan. It does work on baseband 04.11.08 Mine is Iphone 4 with 04.11.08 jailbroked… It does work, I really happy my Iphone 4 won’t be used as an ipod anymore!
    H2O runs on gsm AT&T network so your phone must be for AT&T to work! Please do a research if other companies will work with their network, I’m not sure about that! But it does works for me! Good luck guys! https://www.h2owirelessnow.com/

    i love using my iphone 4 and i wanted to use siri on my phone so i updated my phone and now its stuck on ios 5.0.1 and the baseband 04.11.08 so i can’t use my iphone any more. my iphone 4 is my life plz come out with a way to unlock this baseband. i think it would be better if the dev team comes out with this unlock because with the gevey sim that i used before sometimes gave me problems i want the baseband unlock to be like the iphone 3gs only use the sim card that you want without buying a gevey sim.
