iOS 5.1.1 was rolled out by Apple few days back. It brought in several additions and fixes with it. Anyway, we are not going in to iOS 5.1.1′s change log details right now. If you want to know more about the changes in iOS 5.1.1, then you can go through our post on it here.
As promised, we have come up with the iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak guide, for both Windows and Mac OS X. But before you jump onto the procedure, take a look at the note given below.
NOTE : At the moment, we are able to get only a tethered jailbreak on iOS 5.1.1. You’ll have to wait for an untethered jailbreak till the dev team makes a move. In addition to that, people looking forward to unlock their iPhone must not attempt for this jailbreak as iOS 5.1.1 doesn’t support Ultrasn0w yet. You’ll have to wait on that too. But don’t we’ll keep an eye on it. As soon as they are out, we’ll be up with the details, download links and how to guides. So stay tuned for more updates through our facebook and twitter channels!

iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak Guide (Windows and Mac)
Things to download
1. iOS 5.1 IPSW file for your corresponding device.
2. Latest Redsn0w (Windows / Mac)
Steps to jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 tethered
Step 1 : Run the Redsn0w app and choose the Extras option.
Step 2 : Click the Select IPSW option and choose the downloaded iOS 5.1 IPSW file.
NOTE: One special thing to note here is that you have to point it to the iOS 5.1 IPSW file and not iOS 5.1.1.
Step 3 : Now choose Jailbreak option from the first screen of Redsn0w.
Step 4 : Now check the option to install Cydia and move to the next step.
Step 5 : Redsn0w will provide you with the instructions to enter into DFU mode. Do it as Redsnow says.
And that’s it! You’ve completed the jailbreak process. But remember, it is a tethered jailbreak and so you’ll have to use the Just Boot option under Extras on every reboot to get your device up and running.
